Alison Watt, Loosen Up! Workshop Saturday, March 24th 9AM - 5PM
One of the most common comments I hear from students is “I’d like to loosen up in my painting. ” In this demo I will work with mixed media including charcoal pencil, oil pastel, India ink, and acrylic inks, using brushes, twigs, dip pens, resist, printing, collage, liquid acrylic paint on illustration board and watercolour paper.
This demo is designed to introduce you to some exercises, techniques and materials to help you break out of old habits, loosen up your work and find the fun in painting again. Starting with photographic images, we will explore the process of abstraction, as well as techniques and materials which may be integrated with a more representational painting practice.
